This week we want to point out a special classified ad that comes from one of Kathy’s friends in Buhl, Idaho. If you’re in the area, or any of the neighboring states west of the Mississippi, you can rent a Haybuster 107 from Richard Parrott and use it to improve your pastures. Why are we telling you this? Well, because Richard wants to share a portion of the proceeds with On Pasture! Wow!
Richard and Kathy met when she did a workshop in Ely, Nevada about how to teach cows to eat weeds and they’ve been corresponding ever since. Kathy says he writes a kind of email poetry about his life on the ranch, making light of some of the difficulties, sharing successes and pointing out how hard it can be to try all those new things he learns about at workshops. When we started up On Pasture, he started reading, and his emails to Kathy have provided support and encouragement to us both.
Richard suggested this ad a while back because he thought it would be a way to raise money for On Pasture. He doesn’t have the money in the bank to send a cash donation, so this is his way of being an On Pasture underwriter.
You, Yes, YOU! Can Be an On Pasture Underwriter Too!
Getting this offer from Richard has inspired us in this last week of the celebration of On Pasture’s second birthday. We need support for On Pasture to make it sustainable. You want to support us, but, like Richard, cash money is hard to come by. What if, like Richard, you also have a service or product available, and would like to get the word out about it?
Well, we have the On Pasture classifieds, and we can help you with the advertising up front. If things work out for you, you can send what you’d like to On Pasture. We think this could be a win-win-win situation. We’ll keep writing great articles. You’ll bring in a little more profit as well. And other On Pasture readers will benefit from the products and services they need to make their operations better.
If you’re interested, send us an email. Kathy will coordinate with you on getting your ad up, and we’ll go from there.
Thanks for reading!
Rachel and Kathy
