Wild West Gardening Conference, April 22-23, 2017, Cheyenne, WY.

The Laramie County Master Gardener and the University of Wyoming, Laramie County Extension office are pleased to host a two day multi track specialty crop gardening program to challenge, inspire, motivate and take you to the next level of gardening success, held at Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne, Wyoming on Saturday, April 22, and Sunday April 23, 2017.

Everyone is welcome: From beginners, backyard gardeners, master gardeners, community gardeners to farmer’s market specialty crop gardeners there will be something to learn and help you be better at what you do in the garden.

In addition to 4 tracks of lectures to pick and choose from and Neil Diboll from Prairie Nursery as our dinner speaker, the conference is offering five (5) hands-on workshops to help you get started or better your skills in the world of specialty crops. They are: “Get your Lavender on*” with Kathy Kimbrough teaching valued added crafts you can create with lavender from potpourri to wreaths and more.  “Garlic Gourmet*” with Debi Fowler from decorative to culinary and de-mystifying Black Garlic.  “Microgreens* with Kathy Hatfield, where to begin with this vegetable confetti, you will take home your very own microgreen tray that you planted with seeds to get started and harvest at home in a few weeks. “Medicinal Teas and Tonics*” with Jessica Morgan, blend your own tea, make a tonic to take home, you will have a better understanding of herb ratios to get the most from what you make.  “Flower Projects* with Kathy Hatfield, learn to make potpourri, bookmarks, cards and more from beautiful flowers.
