Speakers for Winter Green-Up 2017 will include:
Doug Carmichael, Director at Lake City Research Station, Lake City, Michigan, will discuss how the Research Station finishes grass-fed beef cattle in 18 months through grazing and winter feed enhancement. His afternoon talk will include what constitutes good feed.
Dr. Rachel Gilker, Editor of On Pasture electronic newsletter, will talk about dealing with compaction in your pastures and maximizing your soil health.
Phyllis VanAmburgh of Dharma Lea Farm, a diversified certified organic farm in Sharon Springs NY, will discuss how she uses holistic resource management to manage their pasture based dairy and beef operation.
Blaine Hizfield of Seven Sons Farm, Roanoke, Indiana will talk about his farm’s marketing program, including internet marketing. During his afternoon session, Blaine will talk about team building on the farm.
The cost per person for Winter Green-Up 2017 is $75.00, which includes all events and lunch.
