I got to meet a member of the On Pasture Community last week! I was in Harpswell, Maine to visit my husband’s parents, Bob and Ann Williams and they took us to a great seafood restaurant for lunch. We ate lobsters on a picnic table 15 feet from the bay.
Afterwards we drove around a bit to see the nearby sites, and then we headed over to Two Coves Farm to pick up fresh eggs for Bob and Ann. There I got to meet Joe Grady who runs the place with his wife, Laura, and their 3 kids. Little did I know until pulling into the farm that Two Coves Farm is an On Pasture member! I was really tickled to see the On Pasture bumper sticker on his truck, and promised to send him another since this one is a little beat up. He said, “Yeah, it went through a tough winter!”
I’m a little shy, and Joe was headed out to do some fencing, so we didn’t chat long. But the visit did get me daydreaming again, as Rachel and I sometimes do, that we’ll go on a cross-country road trip together and drop in on folks who read On Pasture, just so we can say hi and take a picture of their bumper stickers. We both love road trips, and her kids are great travelers, so it’s not out of the question. But maybe not this year.
In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for other On Pasture bumper stickers. If you see someone taking a picture of your bumper, it could be us!
Thanks for reading!
Kathy and Rachel
P.S. If your bumper sticker is in the same kind of shape, let me know and we’ll send you a new one too! And while you’re at, send us a picture of your bumper (sticker attached). Rachel and I would love to have a collection of photos! 🙂
