Happy Birthday Everyone!

Happy Birthday Everyone!

You don’t know this about Kathy, but she’s not much of a Holiday Person. The only two she really, really likes? Hallowe’en and birthdays. She likes EVERYONE’S birthday and believes that day should be celebrated as the miracle it is – the day someone special arrived on the planet.

Kathy likes to take advantage of her own birthday to get folks to do things they ordinarily put off. She says, “Hey! We should go for a hike / have a picnic / go to a museum / go horseback riding / camp out / see a movie / get all the neighbors together in the backyard / etc.”  And since there are so many fun things to do that we’re always putting off, Kathy always extends her birthday for a month…sometimes more.

So this week is Kathy’s birthday – or since it’s Kathy, this month is her birthday! And since that’s a time for doing things you always put off, I think it’s a perfect time to celebrate by sending in support for On Pasture. I’m not saying how old she is, but she is celebrating several anniversaries of her 39th birthday. So if we could get 39 new supporters, that would be some party!

Please help surprise Kathy by celebrating On Pasture this month!

Thank you!

About the author

Author and editor emeritus

Rachel's interest in sustainable agriculture and grazing has deep roots in the soil. She's been following that passion around the world, working on an ancient Nabatean farm in the Negev, and with farmers in West Africa's Niger. After returning to the US, Rachel received her M.S. and Ph.D. in agronomy and soil science from the University of Maryland. For her doctoral research, Rachel spent 3 years working with Maryland dairy farmers using management intensive grazing. She then began her work with grass farmers, a source of joy and a journey of discovery.
