As we head into our fifth year, we’re continuing to grow, and we’re focusing on serving the On Pasture Community in some new ways. But we need your help to make sure that we’re giving you what you really want. So here’s where we’re headed, and how you can guide us.

Beginning Farmers and Ranchers

We’ve been adding articles over the past few months aimed at helping you. You can help us do better at that by telling us what really need to know. Ask us a question, and we’ll find the answers.
Research that heads you in the right direction
The Agricultural Research Service has been doing a lot of great work on livestock, forages, pastures and rangelands, and we’re going to be featuring results that impact what you’re doing. If you have ideas about what you’d like us to find research on, or if you have results that you’d like to share with us, drop us a line.NRCS Support
As part of our Conservation Innovation Grant, we want to provide support to the Natural Resources Conservation staff that serves all our readers in the U.S. If you’re an NRCS staffer whose clients have questions and you need information, let us know. We may already have written articles you need, and if not, we’ll do it. If you have information that you’d like to be sure our readers have, let us know that too. We’re happy to share anything that helps our readers.Website Usability

Since we have so many articles, we want to be sure they’re at your fingertips, so we’re going to be working on improvements to the site and setting up mini-libraries where we can gather articles on a topic. If you have ideas for how the website can serve you better, do send us a note.

Send us an email. If there’s something we’re doing well, let us know so we can keep doing more of that. If there’s something we could do better, we’ll never know unless you tell us. So tell us. If you have a particular problem at your operation, or questions that you need to have answered, send us an email. If we don’t have an article we can point you to, we’ll get you the information you need. Hey, if you just want to find out what you’re fellow graziers are doing, we’ll ask them for their input too.

This is your On Pasture Community. Help us make it better and better!

About the author

Publisher, Editor and Author

Kathy worked with the Bureau of Land Management for 12 years before founding Livestock for Landscapes in 2004. Her twelve years at the agency allowed her to pursue her goal of helping communities find ways to live profitably AND sustainably in their environment. She has been researching and working with livestock as a land management tool for over a decade. When she's not helping farmers, ranchers and land managers on-site, she writes articles, and books, and edits videos to help others turn their livestock into landscape managers.

Not a beginning farmer, but just beginning with cattle – we’re got a couple of young steers we’re trying to raise for beef. We need all the help we can get!
