Kathy worked with the Bureau of Land Management for 12 years before founding Livestock for Landscapes in 2004. Her twelve years at the agency allowed her to pursue her goal of helping communities find ways to live profitably AND sustainably in their environment. She has been researching and working with livestock as a land management tool for over a decade. When she's not helping farmers, ranchers and land managers on-site, she writes articles, and books, and edits videos to help others turn their livestock into landscape managers.

  1. Bill Payne, TSP says:

In your “talk to a real live person” section, you mention NRCS resources. One of those that you may want to mention is the Conservation Activity Plan 110 (Grazing Management Plan). NRCS will contract with the landowner to provide financial assistance to hire a Technical Service Provider who will assist the landowner in developing that plan. I spend 35-45 hours on each of the plans that I provide to a landowner and am a “real live person.” More landowners should be aware to the availability of these CAP 110 plans.
