What has On Pasture done for you lately?
Well, for starters…
Just last week we paid for another year for the application that allows you to post your events for free in the On Pasture Events Calendar.
There are other things we do for you too. When readership expanded beyond what our shared server could handle, we bought you a dedicated server. It costs about $3,000 a year, but you’re worth it.
Our expanding readership (now at about 110,000 a month) attracted attention – the kind nobody likes. We get about 16,000 hack attempts a month. To prevent them from ruining your experience we’ve purchased software and hired a security person.
And of course, we have to pay the bills. So, to make sure On Pasture continues to work for you, we spend lots of time finding grants and sponsors, and getting advertisers. Here’s a list of organizations and people that currently help bring you On Pasture.
Why do we do this?
Because, by doing these things, we meet the agreement we made with you when we started On Pasture:
We will provide you with the information you need to be successful.
Every week we sort through all the information out there, whether it’s science or great producer examples, we figure out what is useful and what isn’t because we know you’re too busy for B.S., and then we translate it into practices you can use.
We also run the events calendar, so you can find opportunities to expand your knowledge. And we share information about resources provided by agencies and organizations.
Now is the time to tell us.
