Prairie Corridor on Haines Branch with Nicole Fleck-Tooze

September 28 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The Prairie Corridor on Haines Branch was first conceptualized as part of the 2011 update to the Lincoln and Lancaster County Comprehensive Plan – LPlan 2040. This plan has long included the Salt Valley Greenway, a green corridor comprised of Salt Creek and Stevens Creek encircling the City of Lincoln. The Prairie Corridor on Haines Branch will create a 7,800 acre tallgrass prairie connection along the Haines Branch of Salt Creek, connecting Pioneers Park Nature Center to Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center. The project includes conservation, habitat restoration, education and outreach, research and trail development components.

Nicole Fleck-Tooze, special projects administrator for the Parks and Recreation Department, will present on Prairie Corridor on Haines Branch. She is a certified Planner with over 20 years of professional experience in planning and environmental projects with the City of Lincoln, including work with the departments of Parks and Recreation, Planning, and Transportation and Utilities.
