Communication doesn’t require sound. Humans and livestock communicate silently all the time. Just think of a teenager rolling his/her eyes at you, or a bull turning sideways, dropping his head and pawing the ground. It turns out that plants can communicate without sound too, but they don’t use body-language, they use chemical signals. Next time you’re out in the pasture watching your livestock graze, think of what the plants around you might be saying.
