With almost 3,000 articles in the On Pasture archives, choosing favorites is really impossible. But, since On Pasture will be on break next week celebrating the Holidays with family and friends, I want to leave you with something extra. (You know, just in case you miss me while I’m gone. 😊) So here are some suggestions.
The Origins of Today’s Soil Health Movement
This video is an excellent look at the history of the soil health movement and where we got those principles that we call “regenerative” today.

Some Tips for Success
Forrest Pritchard’s success as a farmer is hard-won and he’s thought a lot about what it takes to make it. He condenses it here. And then I add a link to the book he wrote too. It’s my favorite book in this genre and well worth owning.
Green Goats Are the Reason On Pasture Exists
I ran a research project with a herd of 130 goats to gather information on the best way to graze to reduce fire danger. Here’s how that led to On Pasture.
New Directions
I’m also really excited about two new categories we added in 2021. Grazier’s Focus of the Month gathers timely information to keep you on track. You can read everything in that category here. And, because we can all use some help sharpening our problem solving skills, we added the monthly Thinking Grazier. It covers a topic in-depth and provides questions you can ask yourself as you put your thinking cap on. You can read everything in that category here.
That’s probably enough to get you started. You’ll find even more suggestions at the end of each article. And you can explore more on your own. You can browse by clicking on one of the categories you find on the home page…
or by clicking on an item in the menu bar…
or by using the search tool to find something specific.
And if you’ve not subscribed yet, now is a great time to do it. Through December 31st, you can subscribe for just $45 and lock that rate in FOREVER!
Thanks for reading! Happy Holidays to one and all!
