Good heavens! 🙂 Someone gave my sister a bird feeder to replace on squirrels gnawed apart. they chewed a hole in the new one, and she was ready to get out the bird gun. I took a small handful of crushed chilis and added that to the seed. Birds like it. when the squirrels tried it, they went berserk running around the yard and then took off. I think the black bear had a problem, too, because he smashed the feed, then ripped it apart, then tried to drink all the water in the swimming pool. But, the newest bird feeder is still there after ten years, unabused, weathered, and needs replacing. 🙂
